Tim Davis was born in Chicago, Illinois, and is recognized as an artist, curator and educator. He is a mixed-media painter working primarily with narratives on social justice, activism, identity, and the Black experience.

My focus has been to create themes that represent interactions and relationships between stylized figures and portraits in real and juxtaposed environments. In my Plexiglass and canvas paintings, I intend to create a spontaneous, free use of lines, shapes, patterns of colors, and other materials layered to complete my visual and narrative statements. While I am planning the composition, I rely on intuitive thoughts and spirits, not always concerned with a straight line or if it’s correct in proportions.
